New Parking Guidelines for AHS
September 2, 2010
The construction of a 650-seat performing arts center at Agoura High School will cause traffic delays in and around the school during the 2010-2011 school year.
A representative from the city suggested that residents driving near Agoura High School should “Come early and be patient or be patient and arrive early.”
The school district has also released updated parking guidelines. They include:
No parking along the curb near the half circle from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and again from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
During afternoon pickup, there is no left turn into the half circle if you are coming east on Driver Avenue and no parking along the south side of Driver Avenue between 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Empty parking spots in the student lot may be used after 1:30 p.m.
Indian Hills will enter the main entrance in front of the gym.
Student drivers will enter the main entrance in front of the gym for the upper lot and the new driveway on Driver Avenue for the lower lot.
Additional parking spots are available on the outdoor basketball courts near Indian Hills. These parking spots are different from the regular student parking permits and will be assigned after the start of school.
Construction for the performing arts center started this June and is expected to take two years to complete.
