Fencer in "Bling Ring" Pleads No Contest

March 15, 2010

The fencer involved in the so-called “bling ring” that robbed homes belonging to young celebrities and then sold off the expensive booty, Jonathan Ajar, has pleaded no contest to three felony counts related to the case.

Ajar, a convicted felon who served more than three years in federal prison beginning in 2002 on drug charges, was the fence for items that the “Hollywood Burglar Bunch”—most of whom were teen girls who attended Agoura Hills’ Indian Hills Continuation High School—stole from such well-known people as Orlando Bloom, Megan Fox, Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan and more.

Ajar, who previously served 37 months in federal prison beginning in 2002, pleaded no contest to three felony counts, including receiving stolen property, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of cocaine for sale.

Authorities originally charged Ajar, also known as “Johnny Dangerous,” with 12 felony counts. He is scheduled to be sentenced April 15 and will likely receive a three-year sentence. Ajar admitted fencing the items in an interview that appeared in Maxim magazine in the January issue.
