L.A. County Sheriffs deputies arrested two people outside the Agoura Do-It Center Hardware store with two vehicles full of stolen tools.
Douglas Schmachtenberger, 25, and his girlfriend, Melanie Brock, 23, were arrested on felony burglary and narcotic charges.
Sheriff’s deputies from the Burglar Apprehension Team spotted two vehicles parked near the rear parking lot of the Do It Center at 28750 Roadside Dr. about 10:20 p.m., nearly an hour after the store had closed.
Schmachtenberger told police he was employed at the store and had been stealing merchandise throughout the day.
A search of the vehicle also yielded cocaine, non-prescription pharmaceuticals, and marijuana.
