City Employees Skip Pay Raise
June 23, 2010
Agoura Hill’s 35 full-time employees have elected to forgo pay increases in order to help preserve jobs, according to the Ventura County Star.
Under the new salary and benefits agreement, the raise freeze would start July 1 and a cost-of-living increase would only happen if the city meets balanced budget targets.
Assistant City Manager Nathan Hamburger said the employees suggested the idea on their own in order to prevent layoffs.
Overall employee non-salary compensation will still increase as the city spends more on benefits. Vision and health care contribution will increase on January 1 and the city will begin offering dental coverage.
The Agoura Hills City Council will meet at 7 p.m. in Council Chambers at City Hall, 30001 Ladyface Court tonight to consider the annual budget.
